A Wonderful vintage silver and cut glass inkwell from the 1980s. The flat glass base with sterling hallmarked silver well and cap . Date letter p for 1989 Made by Barrowclift Silvercraft in Birmingham in 1989. Clear sterling silver marks to lid and internal silver lining, mounted on a heavy patterned squat cut glass base in the style of a ships ink well Wear commiserate with handling and use, two internal flaws to the glass base which can’t be detected on the exterior, no chips or bruises. The flaws are hard to detect unless seen in the right light and these do not distract from this lovely piece and are reflected in the price. Diameter of the base approximately 3 3/4” or 9.5cm, height approx 2 1/2” or 6.4cm. A wonderful item to adorn the desk.
